The Spa at Coral Reef Club

by m

The Spa at Coral Reef Club is located in Porters, St. James which is on the West Coast of the Island.  This spa was completed in December of last year and their customer service, treatments and facilities are simply exceptional.

The boyfriend and I had the pleasure of experiencing The Spa at Coral Reef Club last Saturday. We arrived at 10:45 am and after being greeted by the friendly ladies at reception, we were escorted to the changing rooms where a private changing suite awaited us equipped with a vanity and shower.

We waited in the lounge area to fill out the spa forms and then had a tour of the spa.  We couldn’t resist jumping into the Hydro Pool before basking in the Crystal Steam Room but generally I think you’re meant to do it the other way around (moving from hot to cold). I think we could have stayed in the hydro pool all day if our masseuses weren’t ready to give us our treatments!

After showering off under tropical rain, artic mist and full head jets, options on the experience shower, we were escorted to our treatment rooms.

We chose to have our treatments in separate treatment rooms, however next time, we will try the Outdoor Double Treatment Pavilion. We both had fully body massages but of different types and after the initial complimentary foot scrub out on your private garden terrace which every treatment room has, each masseuse gave amazing treatments:

Classic European Massage

A traditional European massage using deep kneading and long flowing movements to relax muscles and improve blood circulation, encouraging lymphatic drainage. For unwinding and relieving muscular tensions.

  • 50 minutes (also offered for 80 minutes)
  • $130 US

Muscle Melt

A meaningful full body body massage that targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The therapist uses slower strokes, or friction techniques, across the grain of the muscle with warming oils.

  • 50 minutes (also offered for 80 minutes)
  • $140 US

In addition, I had a mani and pedi polish change in the Manicure and Pedicure Room and was pleasantly surprised when I received more than just a simple polish change. These ladies will file, buff and soak your fingers and toes prior to completing the polish change – an extra perk that certainly made a good impression on me.

Although we could have had lunch at The Spa (as they are more than happy for you to stick around and enjoy the facilities after your treatments), we ended up eating a homemade burger at the Hotel’s restaurant (No, not exactly what we probably should have eaten after such an invigorating body cleanse but the extra perk here is that it cost $12.50 US and was just the right portion – even for a man). The Lunch menu also offers an array of salads, wraps and sandwiches…

We would highly recommend you visit The Spa at Coral Reef Club and immerse yourself in a true spa experience ..
