TAXING ISSUE: Britain not budging on air passenger duty

Duncan TaylorBRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – A top United Kingdom government spokesman in the Eastern Caribbean says he is not convinced that the plan by Britain to increase the controversial air passenger duty (APD) this November will have a debilitating effect on Caribbean tourism.

But the outgoing British High Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Duncan Taylor, is warning that there are currently no plans by London to delay implementation of the changes.
