Nice weather, good people and great music at jazz on de hill

by m

Last Saturday, from around 2 in the afternoon, my boyfriend and I met up with a few friends at the 2010 Barbados Jazz Festival at Farley Hill.  We found our friends positioned to the left of the stage on a large picnic blanket with a cooler full of wine (thanks Barry and Onika!), plenty of paleau and pigtail (a Springer favourite) and some interesting romaine wrapped chicken salad ‘sandwiches’, along with some more chicken salad and rice crackers for those of us with high maintenace diets! (much love Sealy!)

We listened to the worldly rhythms of  TIZER featuring Karen Briggs, Chieli Minucci & Lao Tizer, the cool tunes of Bwakore and danced to the soul/R&B music of the metro-sexual (no offense robin!) super sexy, heartthrob, Robin Thicke.

The atmosphere on Saturday was very chilled. Everyone was enjoying the cool afternoon breeze, a given at Farley Hill; the drinks and food were flowing; some people were dancing while others sat comfortably on their folding chairs; the performers were fantastic and the DJ even belted out a set of Whitney Houston tunes which everyone, certainly that I could see, seemed to enjoy!
