Cabins go unsold for inaugural voyages of Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas – Cruise Log – USATODAY.com

Few vessels in the history of cruising have received as much pre-inaugural publicity — and positive buzz — as Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas. And yet with just over a month to go until the inaugural voyage of the largest cruise ship ever built, early sailings remain far from sold out — a fact that is surprising some industry insiders.

“It’s quite odd, (and) it’s not a good sign,” says longtime industry watcher Stewart Chiron, CEO of cruiseguy.com. “There’s a lot of space (available) on all December sailings. Most people don’t fully understand the significance of this engineering marvel, (though) they will very soon.”
