A family of Barbados Green Monkeys!

by Maxwell

Way back when this island was uninhabited, or at least had not been found by the voyagers/explorers/pirates, the Green Monkey was no where to be seen. After Barbados’s initial discovery, the sugar business soon exploded, but this was not without the slave trade. With the slave trade came the African Green Monkey, thought to be brought here as pets.
As you can see from this footage, the Green Monkey has flourished! Barbados is now renowned for the Green Monkey with the world famous and highly exclusive Green Monkey Golf Course at Sandy Lane bearing their name! This footage was taken at the 6th hole on Royal Westmoreland’s Golf Course.
